April weather is hit or miss for sealcoating. We had freezing temps last week and this week it’s in the 80's. At Gorman Sealcoating & Striping we are asked many times each year when’s the best time to Sealcoat in Kansas City? Does it need to be extra hot for it to work? The answer is... it doesn’t. While hot temps do cut down on drying time significantly, we still recommend staying off a driveway overnight and at least 12 hours before vehicles drive across a driveway or parking lot. If it’s 50 degrees or 95, the cure time for traffic is the same. When temperatures are low - we use a drying additive to ensure Sealcoat performance and longevity.
